New compiling troubles...

Recently I've tried to compile a map that I've made. This is my first time trying to compile this particular map. Here's a printscreen of what happens in MBuilder:

Image

It tries to exec the .bsp file, when I haven't even compiled the thing before...I'm stumped as to why it does this. Also, immediately after it tries to exec the .bsp file for a never-before compiled map, it just runs MOHAA, it doesn't even go through the vis compile, or lighting compile. Any clues as to how I can compile this map without the above errors?

Also, does anyone have a clue what the error "Backwards tree volume" is?
^^Edit: No help needed here, just recently saw the compiling errors post.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have a leak into the void. Make sure everything is surrounded by brushes, or more commonly called, a skybox.

I have an outer skybox, and I just double checked...there are no brushes outside of the skybox :(.

I even made the skybox larger and I still get the tree error...I'm still puzzled.

You might have an entity outside the skybox, generally that's what cause those. Make sure the skybox isn't detail.

You have a bad brush in your map. Or all your brushes are set to detail and you have no structural brushes. Get rogues plug-in to remove evil polys. See if that works. Also take a look at this thread over at TMT forums. Has some info on backwards tree. Do a search for backwards tree volume. There are several posts about it and people who have had success removing this error. Make full use of available resources. Search the forums both here and at TMT. Most radiant bsp compile errors have been talked about at one time or another. Here is the link to the post over at TMT:

Heck, Balr has funked up so many maps that we got just about every error under the sun covered !! LOL just kidding with ya my friend !!

I feel like I have dishonored all Q3 map makers...:(

I made the skybox a detail for some reason.

Gally, don't feel so bad. I banged my head for days trying to figure out that I had the very tops of trees poking into a skybox.

You can only dishonor your fellow mappers by NOT posting the solution to your problem! Good job!
