i can't seem to get a sky in my map.. i make a box surrounding my map, texture the 5 walls with a sky texture, and the bottom one with grass.. then add the suncolor, sundirection en the one about the sunflare (forgot its name:P) in the entity window on the worldspawn.. compile my map and then when i run my map i see a sun in a black sky...:S
the sun works perfectly, only i cant see a sky..

anyone got tips/suggestions?

as some mappers here hate to hear, crank the ambient light. use it for all test maps since it's low-taxing and provides good light.

i dunno about anyone else here but i make the skybox around the ground, so what i'd do is make a flat brush, put an info-player-start in there somewhere, make a box around it and sky texture it and hollow. :|

Some of the skys are defective, try using another one.

i tried 3 different textures.. it still doesn't work.. does it matter wether i select sides or brushes... (i draw a brush aroundmy map and then use box... then i select the whole brush and texture it with a sky texture..)

grtz..

Do a search then, I remember when spearhead was just released a lot of people reported problems with skies not working properly on low settings... you might find something useful. For example make sure r_fastsky is set to 0.

In SH the sky will be replaced by fog (farplane) when playing at 16 bit. If you don't use fog it will appear black. If you do use fog the sky will be replaced by your fog colour.
Turning the graphics settings up to 32 bit will fix the problem, but this could affect the fps. So if your map is only to be played in SH then add this line to your maps script: $world farclipoverride -1
(This line is not present in the AA .scr files, only in SH. Check the scripts of the standard mp maps in SH and you'll see that they added that line.)
