hacking

Has anyone tried 2 make an objective where one team must hack into the pc or w/e and steal some information or is that impossible?

like another persons PC? bad idea.

if you mean a PC model then you'd probably have to make that a bomb objective and tweak it so no bomb appears or anything and tweak your ticktime.

I saw the "hacking" objective is another game, but all you did was hit use and the srceen switched to an animated or scrolling texture with key pressing sounds. Also there was a timer bar, so I guess you had to hold the use key down until it finished--all of which is possible in mohaa.

DeusEx have this...I had this on the containerz map, but Wacko decided it was not good :?

And I don't have the code anymore :( ...But it's not that hard to do.

not really, just set up a mic near your keyboard and begin typing rapidly, as if hacking. maybe set up some times beeps if you know any C/C++.

as for the texture make two brushes in front of the monitor, one black and one with scrolling colors etc, jsut make them both a func_group and use the hide command when it's activated, so the black screen is hidden and the colorful one is going. maybe even give it light values to simulate a real monitor.

This sounds like a really cool objective. I'd play any map with this feature :)
