Stairs

How can you go upstairs? (Not with a ladder or elevator) but with a stair. Can you help me. I have maybe a tut... What bout a alarm? 
make stairs outta blocks no higher than 8 units , think it's 8 units ...
that's it .........................................................................dunno if thats wat you meant ......i dunno shite about alarms .
