How to edit maps

I was wondering if there is a way to edit maps already made like bazaar or algiers or verschneit......does anybody know how to do this???

in short, not unless you can script. these maps are called stock maps and no one has managed to contact the makers and get the .map file that they made.

there are such things as decompilers that make a rough sketch of the map you're decompiling in brushes, it's very rough and takes hundreds of hours to recreate.

scripting allows you to add things only via spawning. check tutorials and previous posts to learn how to spawn.

i have seen several modded versions of maps that dont require downloads, does anyone know how to do this?

Thats adding stuff by spawning, not editing the map.

taht means stuff was crated via script instead of Radient.

You can add stuff to a map via scripting like this: http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~rjukanproj ... hScripting

But you cant edit the map file itself.
