Everything is a close to real as I could get it. Scale, terrain, batteries, guns, barracks and tracks are all what I found from maps and images. The structures aren't real pretty, but they are damn authentic. Even have one of the 12 inch mortar's destroyed by a direct hit. I still have to destroy the officer's barracks. They were a prime target and didn't last long. Most everything on the island was concrete and steel because of the termite and mildew problems. Walls were 18 to 48 inch thick. Most of the structures were built before 1900. Can you imagine building all of these sturctures and fortifications out of concrete with the technology that existed 100 years ago? The guns dated back to about 1912.

Crocket's guns never got to be used in WW2. They are low level cannon with a range of 19,000 feet meant to hit ships. No ships came within range. But the remaining 7 mortars in Battery Geary kept on firing even after the Japs had captured the island.

I like to try and recreate real scenes. You get a sense of what it was like to really fight there. It's not fair or balanced, it's real. You have to adapt your playstyle to fit the map. I would also like to make things smoother, but I'm already over 11,000 faces and I still have lots foliage to add. There's no way I can hide anything with this type of map layout, so I have to save face count wherever I can. One of the disadvantages of trying to recreate real scenes. Mother Nature doesn't care about face count.
