I admit I couldn't find it on this forum, although I know its here somewhere. How do you turn on the FPS counter?

You could've just asked while playing online, its FPS 1

i bound keys to these fps stuff,
bind b toggle fps
bind n toggle cl_lagometer
b and n are close to wasd and therefore easy for me to toggle
