Yes this is the WTC and yes the buildings explode with airliner impacts and yes im American and yes im mapping again and yes I could care less if you think it's wrong. Now that I have that out of the way....

A lot of work has been done for this. The working subway is the only real advantage to the terrorists/axis who decide they will try to brave the city to get to the radio which inturn triggers the planes crashing into the WTC buildings.

I'm about 80% done with the map. After I finish the scripting of the pyro for the explosions, VIS leafgroups and block off the rest of the outside of the map it will be ready for an ALPHA test. I will be recruiting people for this test. I'm doing a personal lan test at a local Lan Zone Store with 14 people. But I will want user feedback before the net Beta release. I'll let you all know when its ready for ALPHA. Cheers and be ready to be wowsered.

WoW, You did a great job! I really want to play this map and it is for modern warfare too, reallycool.

well personally i do think it is wrong. a map for a game about killing people, with Sep. 11th tradegy in it. the word disrespectful comes to mind. :roll:

WW2 was 60 years ago :roll:

and it happened to be a conflict, not a terror massacre of the Sep. 11th sort.

m4rine your too politcially correct. who cares? forget it. someday ppl will make games for this all the time. a huge contribution as well to the MW team. 240 textures is quite a lot. :wink:

The towers dont need to explode. In fact this can stand as a memorial to the fact... thats if you are good enough to stop online players from making it happen.

i think the idea and the map are great.

1 lil tiny winy thing. i dont live in NY and have neevr been ther but ive seen pic's and i just thought the roads look a little empty and i thought it was nearly impossible to find a taxi there?

lol The roads are hardly empty now. Those are early alpha pics of the map.

Great job Cobra! I think its a great idea to incorporate the planes exploding into the buildings. Make it historicly correct.
Very nice.

Jv is going to let me use the chopper for this map. It looks as though it has so much space that a chopper will provide adequet transportation as well as the subway system.

Hidden OBJ:


Prevent terrorist contact with radios. Each radio is set to call the planes in one at a time. SWAT will need to be on the ground early in order to prevent the terrorist insertion into the city via subway from the docks.

DANGER
Explosion effects environment. Blast radius is severe.

You'll only need the map and MOHAA to play it but it really is ment for a mod like Modern Warfare or Citynights Final to get the real feel for it. Its online MP TDM/FFA/RB/OBJ.

I can't wait to put jv's chopper in this map. The map it self is at 95% completion.

hey, are the streets realistic? Wat bout the buildings next to it? In the explosin, shouldnt the windows next to the towers explode too? Video clips at the end like in the bt briefings? The clips would be on the allied side if they prvented it, but youd need a news set, and if the axis won you could have it show clips of it smoldering and at the end of the clips it could either say mission seccessful or mission failure for the axis win and have the screen show a picture of firefighters holding up a flag.
