animated textures?making fx?

um i have been wondering how to animate textures and make fx? could sum1 help me out here?

1. animations on sprites (2d images, think doom 1 and 2) are difficult to do effectively. as tltrude on this. he's made plenty. many different engines do it many different ways. they're more meant for older engines, like Doom 1 and 2, HL, 2d engines etc
2. see At0miC many many topics on the Train to Hell map.

or u could try finding the download for the battledome map made by Gen. Cobra here
http://uberclan.com/modules.php?name=Do ... rchresults . Now play the map check out all the cool stuff thats there...peep into the scripts and learn from there.......

TIk files wont help much, you can get those from stock. what he needs to know is a few things, is it cast or anim based? (cast is liek a cartoon, bunch of pics in slow mo, anim based is a 3d effect)
you'll almsot need to find the original pic files and learn from there.

uhh my goal for an animated texture is one where theses a stickfigure moving his arms up and down.. simple enough...

I've just used Television in my map...
