Bots2

Jv, i was using Bds botmenu to spawn the bot01s into a map which worked fine, the bots2 i can (with a little tweaking) get to spawn but they dont use the points i used for bot01s spawns eg (level.botnode[0] = spawn script_origin origin ( -4352 1832 136 ) spawnflags 4) which worked fine, instead they appear under the map.

Are they using a different method for spawnpoints?

I think you are a little confused about a mod I sent you and JVbots . The mod I send does use JV's bots but does not use his botscripts . Try this link it may help you to see the difference . The botmapper makes this type of bot map and not the mod you have .

In case bdb didn't answer it already the bots2 beta has bot spawn points 'hard coded' in one of the bot scripts... this will change for the final bots2 though :)

Ok, heres what i was trying to do if it explains better - i added around 20 of these (level.botnode[0] = spawn script_origin origin ( -4352 1832 136 ) spawnflags 4) to a single player conversion, then used Bds bot menu to spawn bots into that map, the bots happily spawn and run around using the original pathnodes from the single player level (great fun!!! :) and kill each other and players. All that they needed was spawned via Bds menu and into combat they go :)

I see now what you mean about the hardcoding, you gotta get in touch when the final bots 2 is released - this is so much more fun and very easy to implement - not sure if anyone else has used sp-to-mp maps like this but it works a treat :)

its great, but old, and the fatct that they sometimes levitate after dying and cant sense nades is annoying :'(

but their creator is sure to fix this! :mrgreen:

Not sure what youve been playing around with but the ones im using are perfect and do see nades - my custom conversion that is :)

Im looking forward to this - fully serverside Bots and "stock" Sp-to-Mp conversion maps - wow!!!

i meant bots2. not bots1.1.......

but hey if they work better than the beta B2 email 'er here! :D

When i get the Bots2, ill test it (some other work should be finished by then on the conversion) and itll be beta tested on the mods-r-us server then placed in our Mod Files section for peeps.

All credits of course will be with the pak :)

It has been a while since we heard anything about bots2 . I know JV is busy with school and all the other things he is doing and I imagine that it isn't easy to do but I hope he has time to one day finish it . Until that time the more people that get bots1 the better it makes makeing certain types of mods easier . The botmapper should help with that . That is one thing COD does not have . I know someone posted that they have made bot maps of most of the stock maps but as far as I know they have not posted it yet .

taht would be EagleAR, and i highly doubt he has or if they;re very good.

also, Elgan did you mean that you'd have a bots2 up on the server? or bots1? :?

ya all stock maps have bots now & u will get them in Real War mod which is releasing in one week :D

also i want to thank bdbodger, all of the bot scripts created with ur botmapper

I know this is an old post

but i wanted to do the same thing for my SP maps converted to MP as cobra did with his....

Like spawn some jv_bots then have them run the pathnodes that are already on the map. i read the manual MANY times but i need to see the script to understand. How would i go about doing the same type of bots cobra did in the picture.

And please dont just tell me to read the manual and give me a link. i read it, dont understand it and know where to find it.
