just wondering on colour or direction of sun if ne or what sky to use 4 a dark map?

A good starting point might be:
Suncolor 17 17 17
sundirection -20 100 45
sunflarename none (at that angle you will go blind...lol)

In "Ranger's lead the Way", m1l1:
ambient light = 8 9.2 20
suncolor = 10 15 30
sundirection = -30 300 0
sunflare = none
The last number in sundirection has no meaning.
