PA Mapping: terrain painting?

how do i paint idividual terrain/tris? whenever i try to paint my terrain with a nice sand texture for a little island, it seems i can only paint one of the HUGE squares in the editor.. hurry! i want to get the most imporatant complaints out before it gets past midnight

I assume this is for PA...
Hold shift on red quad and right click. A list of textures will appear and place a check beside the ones you want to enable on that quad. You can have up to 3 textures per quad.

Yeah, i did tha before accidentally and couldnt figure out how to do it again.. thx
