anti shark (u can still use USE )

ok now most of the shark script i know of atm just spawn a object under the ladder , that dont even fix it or fix all ladders. the others just use a trigger and kill them when they press use. or some people take away the ability to use use at all. Now how annoying is that?

I spent hours trying to shark to see how its done litrialy spent ages researching hwo to cheat. How dodgy does that sound. anyway i managed it and then whent and fixed it.


i shall explain how it works because people usualy ask me after anyway:

The anims and states are wrong. so i whent to see what ones were running while this all happened. I found that only standing for movement and position ever ran. but u can mvoe so i checked the velocity is mvoing. if all 3 flags are this then the player is sharking. The only other time the player runs these 3 things are when they are trying to walk forward but is blocked by a wall. I was going to make it check if they were near the ladder and run the code to check while they were. but if they run into the ladder it whent wrong. So i didnt want to use a timer. so i got when they grabbed a ladder if they moved the tiniest bit it then checks for sharking and hay presto it kills them because they are falling back at this point to go into a shark with velocity and no position or movment type other then standing.

Sounds great but when i went to grab the files the zips were empty??

I hope im not to late or was there another issue still? I cant tell you the number of times i used to go on to other folks servers and cry out " Damn You E Button Damn You!!"

Got it for some reason when i hit open the file wasnt in there but when i hit save it was.... :?

Oh well gonna check it out now. Has this been tested on a server yet?

Cool i have posted it on our team forums. I must say I am constantly impressed with the members of .map. Great work Elgan, hopefully this will catch on.

then it wasnt running:D

NOTE: - IT USES MODDED STATE FILES. im pretty sure u have cusotm state files in your game.

i also uploaded it to my server.now how about the break in the wall on remegan.is there sumtin better to fill that in wit,maybe a texture.is it possible to spawn a texture,i was in a server one time on southern france,and the one roof u can see throught the top of it,but there server had it textured??

if i had a list of all map glitches i would be v.happy to go through anf ix them all properly.

yes u can spawn a texture using func beam but that can always face u.

u can spanw a script_object with a name of something in the map already and it will take its texture.

local.object = spawn worldspawn
local.object setsize ( -10 -10 -10 ) ( 10 10 10 )
local.object light 1 0 0 299
local.object notsolid
local.object.origin = local.origin

if u used that code in mohdm1 it spawns a textured wall. i just happned to have that in my clipboard key:D what a cooinsidence or howver u spell it

I already checked Elgan. That was the only .pk3 in the directory. No extra folders either.

u will havre to show me. and add some printlns "running" to the script so we know its running.
