Isnt it sad when MoH turns into law.
I went out looking to find a scripter who could make me a new gametype.
I gave him my idea, He made it work, we had a laugh.
I asked for the script, he said he didnt want to give it to me.
So... I pleaded, it was my idea and made for a specific reason. So he gave me a version that he claimed; "its got enough bugs in it to make it not work at all" So i said, Ok, he said thats the last i would get from the mode, so i said i would try and fix it up. He requested my name, so he could give me a licence to change it! A licence? i said? It turns out he copywrites all his script
I declined, saying all i wanted was a game mode, not a legal agreement.
So he has 1 more idea, of mine, and i'm still at square 0.
I wont mention any names, because he will probably sue me.
The game mode is now running on {sfx} server 2 - {sfx} themselves had nothing to do with it.
Well, all I can say is... Isnt that a pity?

(i know who you talkin about)
i'd be ashamed of myself if i'd do something like that... But if he like it this way.
My opinion?
Excellent scripting knowledge + no idea of what to do = nothing to script
Anyway, too bad this happenned and some poor minds have to "license" stuff in the modding community, i bet you won't tell him anymore good ideas...

Ask him where he registered his copywrite and tell him you want to verify it .

Copyrighting a script... phffft! I wouldn't worry about that at all. In theory you can't even take textures from other games (e.g. CoD, RTCW) for a MoH map. Yet lots of people do just that. But copyrighting a script to use in a game that isn't your own is utter bs.

i'd never copyright any of my work, i'd have signatures plastered all over under the ground in my maps and my scripts would be dotted with quick cheap little
// MADE BY LIZARD, ANY OTHERS ARE ******* ******** *****S.
but honestly, doing that? man....

Just use it and call his bluff, you aint making money from it so what is he going to sue you for? also as you contributed to the concept then if he wants to be like that he has to now ask your permission too.
I say name & shame this bitch.

I purpously left many hints about... anyway, begins with A - ends in X, and has lien in the middle
But hey, i'm not denying him being a good scripter, he is excellent... i just think hes gone a little far

Does not really make a difference. If you read the fine print EA claims all ownership of mods created with their tools/content.
I have always thought of the idea of "copyrighting" ones work was rather gay. I mean none of us have "reinvented the wheel" when it comes to moh modding. We simply come up with a good idea and tack it onto the games content and/or code.
I know the group you are talking about and their actions on certain issues are...well...unorthodox to be polite.
