I've been working on fixing the decompiled mess of Southern France. I'm nearly finished, but I just don't want to return it to stock form. I know that most people don't really enjoy playing this map much, so I'd like some input. If you'd like just reply with what you think could be added to help make this map much more fun.

Well, you are going to have to beat the scripted in mods of southern france, which are quite hard to beat after seeing Ivan The Terrible's and all the weird mod he had!... and you're going to have to beat Southern France 2, which was a great map.
A few ideas.. add a theme to it, would be a great change!
- Destroyed Southern France
- Southern (insert Different Country name here)... would require a lot of work, but just change the architectures and textures to the country you input!
Egh, i cant think of much right now... all thought out

... ill get some more ideas by the end of the night!

Rule #1. Backup the .map file in it's stock form. Then modify a copy. Do this if you want to make 2 renditions of the same map. Never add-on to a stock .map file.

Yes, that would be a MUST to make a backup file... eegad.
A couple of more ideas that popped into my head:
-Climate change the map... no not just make the textures 'snowy, sandy, swampy, etc.'.... but rather change the buildings themselves. For example, if you were to make it a snowy map, change some of the buildings into cliffs, and if that building was accessible in the stock map.. heck, heres a great opportunity for cave systems! i can picture Southern France as a desolate, snowy (siberian perhaps?) town.... maybe even NO buildings at all and just natural formations that form in the way sf does! (glaciers, fallen trees as bridges, numerous caves, sheer cliffs, etc.) ...ugh.... that would be a GREAT map.
-make it an obj and add the obj in it... a few extra rooms and stuff. Make it a unique OBJ... not the usual 'blow up the [insert large weapon here].'

where is the "anything southern france related" stuff in your idea cheetohs? I think you should make it bigger and add an airfield or a fuel deopt and have the allies "disable the [insert vehicle here]" them.. Like maybe a "diable the plane" or a big forest surrounding the place and put in a small structure that the allies have to defend from axis forces and you could put the thing in random places to keep it from being an easy obj. Like Cheetohs said... dont make it a typical "blow up the [insert rather large and dangerous "new" weapon here]"

A cool objective ive been thinking about is an assassination obj.. where you gotta assassinate the 'officers' who are at several randomized locatoins... it's your job to find them and kill them (probably more than 1...).
If you did happen to do a [insert giant weapon thats newer and more dangerous] into your map... id say make it be a unique weapon (Hitler's top-secret chemical warfare depot!)... if it was that... i dont think blowing it up would be the wisest idea.. perhaps a different way of containing and disabling it... hmm....
hehe, or add some of the SP objs (disable vehicles in motor pool..plant radar becons for planes onto vehicles...etc...)
I guess this is kind of straying from the southern France idea...
