My map is very simple. All it has is a house with no window or door, snow on the ground and snowtree lines around it. Then it gots a shell around the entire map with no gap, just a simple sky texture. Then i got a player start for a spown and I got lights all around (but not to close). And I named it Winter Teaster.map. Also I used plenty of calk where the players eye cant see. THIS MAP IS FOR MOHAA Spearhead!
I have tryed to compile it many of times with MBuilder but every Time the game starts up the level never starts, and yes I did bring the concel down and typed "map Winter Teaster.map" but all it said was "USAGE: map <map> usage." Can Someone help me please? HELP!
I Love the map making stuff, and in the past Ive made several diferent maps, but I got very sad when I found out I couldent Test them so I quit..... but this year I wanted to give it another try. If this dosent work then I dont think Im going to ever make a nother map........

You can't have spaces in the mapname...

also you don't write
map <mapname.map>
you ALWAYS use
map <mapname.bsp>
compiling it changes it from editor form (.map) to a universal game form (.bsp)

it means you're using the wrong version of MOHAA for the compiled version. did you use the SH SDK to make it and tried to run it with base MOHAA? or vice versa, made it with plain old Rad and tried with SH?

ok, just to clarify for myself, you're using the SH SDK and compiling with MBuilder, and running in SH?
it ought to work, the version error just means that MOHAA you're running doesn't match what the map was compiled for.
i guess try running it in all the types you have, SH and AA and if you have BT try that too, sometimes BT messes up map compatability.
EDIT: here's a thought, do you have in the other options window that little box that says "Run MOH:AA after compile"? if so then you're definetely going to have the wrong MOH up, it only brings up regular MOHAA.

ok,
I'm Doing good! I can compile my maps, but cant load them on spearhead. I go to spearhead concel and typ in map <Winter.bsp>
but then it says could not find in maps folder. I have them in mohaa/main/maps and in mohaa/mainta/maps, but it still says that it cant find the map.

You don't need to type the ".bsp" extension. But I presume your map is a deathmatch map and not single player? To play deathmatch maps (and to hear any sounds) you need to make an extra folder called "dm" in the maps folder:
..mohaa/mainta/maps/dm and copy the bsp there.
To load your map then type "map dm/winter" (without quotes).

ALso do i need to put caopy of maps in both for it to work. I made a test map a large building didnt do anything to it, made player start and light. sounds liek you're a little confused
dont worry, MBuilder makes the maps folder for you and puts everything in there once compile is done. the big thing you need to worry about is using the right version, if you put a map in main, then it's available for all versions, if you put it in mainta, then only for SH. maintt is only for BT.
big thing i see not working is that you compiled as a SP map when you want a DM map, or vice versa, check out the Mbuilder's Other Options and make sure the gametype you want it to be for is selected. then recompile
