SDK or MOHradiant ???

euh.. guys, i'm reading alot about mapping for spearhead with the SDK prog.. can't you use MOHradiant for spearhead...

What's the difference ??

OR... is it basicly the same, and i'm i just being a noobish person...

(noobish could be right in my case.. :p just started hehe.. )

The main difference is that the mohradiant from the SDK can show Spearhead models but the mohradiant from mohaa tools will crash if you load the spearhead models . Well almost if you load the ai it will crash unless you set the option to show models as bounding boxes only and if you don't the spearhead models will look like blue boxes you won't see them . The second difference is the compilers , Qmap.exe and mohlight .exe . The compilers from both share the same name but you can't load a map compiled with the SH compilers into mohaa but you can load a map compiled with the AA compilers into SH and BT . Other than that not really that different just rename mainta to xmainta when you make AA maps so that the SH stuff does not show up in mohradiant and use the AA compilers for AA maps the SH compilers for SH only maps .

but whatch out for the xmainta thing.. if you do that and try to play spearhead it wont work. i reinstalled it because i tried to load spearhead and i forgot i set it to xmainta.. sothat just wasted my time... Change the xmainta thing back to mainta when youre done mapping...

Can i finish building walls/rooms/corridors with caulk and then open with SDK ?

i guess.. you can brig any map from AA and bring it to SH but not the other way atound (itll be messed up because of the textures)

so does the SDK support custom skins? i'm trying (failing) to get a load of custom skins made into AI into a map but it never works.

uhhhhh... it should...shouldnt it? it support my skin for my (failed) sherman tank proj.. or does the texture show up in the SDk and not in the game?

i can't tell, as soon as i put the AI model in it crashes Rad, but i haven't messed with anything but supporting AI with the usual in it :S
