New Tutorial!
Steelie-NS has finished his first tutorial for .Map today:
Making an elevator
This tutorial describes accurately how to make a 2-floor elevator with a func_door.
It is explained in a very clear manner which makes this tut a must-read for those looking to create a quick and useful elevator without a lot of scripting experience. If you are not looking to create a quick and useful elevator without a lot of scripting experience it still is a great tut to read regardless.
Nice job and thanks Steelie!

yeah, the more the better
but in some cases the clip brush might get in the way. Instead u should use the lip key.
This is normally used to make the door stop earlier than it's length, i.e. a sliding door of 64 width will slide just 56 units with lip/8 (default). But this key can be used for ur elevator too. Give it a negative value of -(floor distance - elevator brush height). For example, if ur elevator platform was 16 units high and the floor distance is 256, ur func_door would get
key/value: lip/-240 et voil?, it goes all the way up
errrm, i must confess, what I see is different to what i knew: i had to use key/value lip/-222 for the above. Dunno why

Very good
Good, clean, and simple--I like your tutorial! You might want to add the "lip" key/value option, and how to change the sounds it makes. Here is a tutorial I did for the same thing--a long time ago.

I have also made a 5 story func door type elevator. It is done by stacking the cars. The players have to get out to lower or rise the stack on each floor. If you want to check it out, download my "Altelevator" tutorial map by clicking on the image below.
