I have had a lot of trouble with mapping latley. When I lad all of my custom maps, the texture flickers, showing small boxes of my sky texture in random areas of the map. Why is this happening? To anyone who replies, I thank you.

It is probably overlapping brushes with different textures--the game is not sure which texture to render. To fix it remove all the extra brushes. If a brush gets brighter red when you select it a second time, there are two brushes.

I had that prob, Make sure your using the proper texture, if its masked you must use no draw on 5 sides of the brush.

don't get to tricky on scaling the textures, use caulk on everything before texturing not BLANKLIGHT caulk. they look the same.

any area not seen should be caulk not no draw!

I've forgotten but I use to get those grid like lines that flash on ur texture.

Thank you very much for all of your help. *Update* It seemed to be the road that i had made. When I removed it tehre was no flickering. But if that is so, how can I make a road with out overlapping the floor? Also, how do I make trees?
