why is it people use door.scr to lock/unlock when for say

$door lock
$door unlock

does the exact same things?

is there a difference?

If you read the door_locked.scr you will see that all it does is make a sound when you use the use key it does not actually lock any doors . You would use it for fake doors there is nothing in the script to unlock doors .
