I feel bad first post is a question >.<

Any way my problem is I can?t get my god ---- ladder to work!


Yes I have read the Ladder Tutorial.

Yes I have searched the forum.

None has worked.

I basically make a ladder

|___|

(Its bigger that but I hope you get the general idea on what my ladder looks like)

And then I create a new "brush" and make it the same size, put it in the same spot of the ladder and increase it out word so the player can get on the ladder, then put the "Common/Ladder" texture of the new brush covering the ladder. Then I give the Ladder Textured brush Func>ladder and I give it the angle of 180 (It said to in the ladder Tut)

So I compile... get in the game... load the map
And I walk up to the ladder... I don?t automatically grab on... so I press E (Use button) and nothing happens.... wth? I fallowed the exact directions of the Ladder Tut?

Can any one help me please?

make sure your ladder's angle is teh direction it's going to be climbed. (angle 90 is up, 180 is down, etc)

if that doesnt work pull the actual ladder (the func_ladder) out of the ladder itself, it may be generating errors...

like lizardkid said, the angle must be the direction (in xy top view) the player is looking when he wants to climb the ladder (like for rotating_doors), but one of his angles is ...errrm... wrong.
for ladders u're approaching from left in top view (i.e. looking to the right), angle/0
from below (looking up): angle/90
from above (looking down): angle/270
from right (looking to the left): angle/180
