.Map :: MoHAA Mapping

Hi guys, I hope you can help me.

I need to add some spawn points to some maps.
I downloaded a .bsp to .map converter.
Converted the file and added the spawn points.

But now I am unable to recompile the map.

I use the SDK files etc, but when I try to recompile the map I don't get a .map file at the end of the process!?!

Would this be an issue with the .bsp converter?
Has anyone managed to convert a map amend it and convert it back?
If so what tools did you use?

if you decompile a map....youll get 1000's upon 1000's of errors that all need to be fixed...so you cant just decompile a map and add spawn points with out fixing them! id say to use scripting to add spawn points, its easier and will save you countless hours of frustration...ask anyone here..its easier to make a map yourself than to fix all the errors left from decompiling!

also, you need to understand the process for maps to playable maps

.map is just a basic text file created by Radiant to tell the compiler where the brushes are, what entities are where etc. when you compile it, it converts the .map to a .bsp, a very universal game map format, the .bsp is what the game reads. you need that .bsp in your main/maps folder to be able to use them, there are other files too that you need, but .bsp is the most important for beginners

and yes, script spawning spawn points is TONS better than trying to use a decompiled map.

i belive it was MPowell that decompiled the hunt, it took him 400+ hours to be abl to completely recreate it.
