Surface properties window? Does it work?

Post by Cpt_Pennybags »

I am trying to make a texture I apply to patch mesh translucent that way the sun will not effect it and cast shadows. I select the patch mesh, apply the texture, open up the surface properties window and then apply the translucent characteristic. This does not seem to work. What is the point of having this if it does not work.

Or am I doing something wrong? I thought I remember changing something on the surface flags once and it worked. I noticed the translucent is under the content flags. Will this have something to do with it?

pretty sure that has to be a part of the shader for that effect.
someone else can verify that.

i never had much (if at all :? ) success in using the content flag check boxes in the surface inspector. It's rather showing the shader's content, I think. So, I recommend writing ur own custom shader for what u need.
