Long time since I've been here...

Hey, I want to MOD my new server that is coming soon and I have a few questions:

1. If I take a map, like Algiers, and edit it with radiant, like add new rooms with brushes and add new objects then re-compile it then put it back in the pk3, will the new stuff show up on the players' computers? If not, I would like some help on that.

2. How do you edit the weapons' ammo hold and fire rate? Do you haver to edit the Tik files or is that something that has to be custom coded? If not, I would like to hire someone to right a script for me if possible. Email me if your real good at custom scripting.

You can't just take a map and open it up with radiant :wink: ... they never provided the .map to do so.... you would have to de-compile it, fix the LOT of errors and mistakes in it, compile it, and it would pretty much have to be an entire new map :?

As for editing weapons... It's simple. You can do it yourself... Make sure you have pakscape, anyways go here

EA Games > MOHAA> Main > Pak 0 > Models > Weapons >> Now at the bottom there is all the weapons .tik... so yes, thats what you edit. (make sure you dont overwrite the ones, but rather save as to your desktop into folders you made... (models > Weapons > SAVE-HERE).... Drag the .tik that you want to edit on your desktop... for some reason you cant save the changed info while editing it in pakscape.

Ok, to edit the weapons, just add a .txt after the .tik so that you can open it with notepad... Open 'er up. Scroll down til you see this stuff... NOTE: THis is the kar98... other weapons are pretty much the same.

Change the Clipsize and startammo to what you want. and change the firedelay to how fast you can shoot. (this is the minimum time inbetween each shot, "1." represents 1 second.)

Now, we are not done yet.... Scroll down some more until you see the DM attributes.

Change the info to what you put in before... You can mess with ALL the stuff in here, the accuracy (you have to kind of understand pitch and yaw with this though..) The damage, ANYTHING.

Now, like i said, make sure that you go 'save as' and save it somewhere else! Bring your 'Models' Folder and make a new user-<name>.pk3 for your own liking!

If you need help or don't understand my crappy explanation id be happy to help you out... I kinda scrambled with the steps here. :?

I already added the room and already de-compiled it. What do you mean by fix alot of errors. I do see many things missing... Will they come back when you host?

Thats the problem.... Its a hassle to fix everything the way it should be.... and no, they will not come back :?

You don't have to edit the damage... you can if you want.... I was just pointing out that all the characteristics of the weapons can be modified and are at your disposal. Mod away my friend. :wink: ... But if its just ammo size and stuff you want to edit, than just do that, i guess. :P

Well, I don't want to do a lot of work and find out things in the map are missing... I didn't understand your answer, do they come back?

Dangit.. i went into the .tik and started messing around for 30 mins and you two went and had a conversation... ok heres my out -of-date post:

Prob 1:okay, what ever you do, DONT EVEN TRY to decompile algeirs.. ya gotta script the stuff into the map... Even if you did decompile it succesfully, put the crap into the maps, and put it into yer pk3, the players wouldnt be able to use your map...

prob 2:
ask cardvesan (owner of crazyserver) or another well known modder or group... say the {sfx} team or TMT...
yes you can do it by .TIK AND by script
i knwo how to do it by tik but not by script...


No, the decompier SUCKS! IT SUCKS and i cant stress this enough.. IT SUCKS! No nothing will ever be the same if you decompile it... So DONT try unless youre desparate, or its for a super mod for some..thing that is so big.in short.. IT SUCKS IT SUCKS IT SUCKS...

If you have problems editing the weapons via .tik, just talk to us here, i know i gave crappy instructions (was in a rush) and could easiily clear it up for you if you wanted me too.........................

IT SUCKS and i cant stress this enough
and how i underlined, italicized, boldened, and enlarged it show the strength in its stressful position :P
